Dear Friends Of Improbable People Ministries and A Tour Of Roses,
While there were no reports from Sally of heading for bomb shelters today, we are ever-vigilant toward the serious moment in history the good people of Haifa and our Team are facing at the moment. We ask you to continue to pray for their safety as well as a peaceful, fair resolution to the conflict. The Team continues to experience gratitude, gratitude, gratitude for the love we are showing Israel through the simple act of handing out a free rose as a gesture of the extravagant love God has for His Chosen. The testimonies continue to amaze. So let’s get right to them.
ROBERT:
We are in Haifa this afternoon we went to the train station and a bus station, which are next to each other. We were between the two stations handing out roses to individuals going and coming from the various stations. A man approached me and wanted a Rose and I gave him one and he started engage me in conversation.
He had a lot of questions, and pretty quickly the conversation led to talking about Yeshua and Yeshua being the Messiah. He was in agreement. We talked about it quite a bit, and finally I asked him if he had ever accepted the Lord as his savior and he told me that he had been on a boat with a priest back in 2016 and was led to the Lord. So he already accepted Yeshua as his Savior. And the only book that he’d really studied in the New Testament was the book of Revelation.
He had lots of questions about the end times and what’s going on in the world and how I saw the end times and he got political at times. When that happened, I kept leading him back that the solution is not the government. It is the Lord. And he totally agreed with that. Although he definitely had a political perspective that he wanted to talk about, it was based on a perspective based on the book of Revelation that was both political and spiritual mixed together.
A lot of his questions were just to confirm his own understanding of Yeshua and the days we are living in, He had a pretty good, basic understanding. And then he started asking questions about how to really get to know the Lord and I was talking to him about how best to pray and how best to seek God. The more we talked, the more I realized his heart was really on fire for the Lord, but he really didn’t have any mentors, so he was just looking for a lot of answers.
I really felt the need to lead him to where he could encounter the Lord himself and come into more of an intimate relationship with the Lord and actually listen. He talked about how he prayed a lot but he never spent any time just listening to the Lord, seeking the Lord’s face, trying to get to know the Lord more. So I talked to him about that kind of a process and the man was just like a sponge. And at the end I said, can I pray for you? So I prayed for him.
Before I prayed for him, I asked him his name which was Samson Jacob. So I prayed for him and really prayed for the Lord to lead him into a closer relationship with him and lead him into his destiny, and he had a heart on fire but Lord to really touch his heart and bring him into a closer intimate relationship with him, to where he would know him, that he would know the path that the Lord had for him because he was hungry to know that path. So please pray for Samson Jacob. talked
Later I gave a rose to a young man who didn’t speak a lot of English. So I gave him the rose, pointed to the card and he read the card and then he pointed to his arm . His arm he had goosebumps and his hair were standing up and it was like–WOW! With so little engagement, just reading the card, the spirit touched him so much that he was showing me how much it affected him.
SUNNY:
We went to this mall in North Haifa. And I was down to my last rose of the day. I saw a young lady walking up the hallway and I approached her and said, “Matana, free rose, free rose and she looked at me and she said, “What is this about?” And I said, “Well, we’re from America and we’re here to hand out roses because we want you to know that we love you, we’re pray for you, and you’re not standing alone, that we pray for the hostages to be released for praying for the soldiers to be protected, praying for peace on the land.
Just that we love you. And she was so excited because just that afternoon she was getting called up to return to base for action and so then she said well can I take make a short movie of this and I said sure so I grabbed Lura and we both looked at her and we smiled and she started a video and so we talked about the same thing about how we love Israel and we stand with Israel and we pray for them. She was going take the video back to the barracks and share it with her crew.
EVI:
We went first to a mall called the Grand Canyon Mall and we passed out flowers there. It probably took 10 to 15 minutes for 600 flowers to be taken by everyone. So there was quite a bit of interest and gratitude that we were there.
I ran into a woman who, as we were leaving, who asked us about the roses, but she hadn’t gotten one. And so we started talking and telling her why we had come. She told me that she had chills going up her arms as we spoke. And several people spoke with her. She was lovely. Her name was Ronit. And we were sorry that we had no more flowers to give her.
She said she had gone to the mall too late to get one. So, we said goodbye and as we were leaving and going into the elevator, we saw one of our roses left in the elevator on one of the handrails. So I was able to grab it and run it back to her and finally give her a rose and she was delighted .
The second place we went to was kind of a convergence of bus station, train station, movie theater, and shopping mall. The mall was about three stories. Lots of stores, very few people. Well, the second story was a medical facility. And it was interesting that it was in a shopping mall. But one of the people we ran into on the second floor told us that we should go up, that maybe there were some patients that would like some flowers. So Lura, Sunny and I went up to that floor and separated so that we could try different sides of the building.
I went into one office area that looked like it was for medical purposes and saw hardly anyone there, but I turned into a little office and saw a receptionist. I gave her a rose, and she was really delighted Then I saw a couple of others, and every time I saw someone at a desk, I gave them a rose. They were really happy to receive them. Then, when I went into another office, a woman started following me and translating for me for the other receptionist’s offices. We kept walking into and she told them why we were there and they were very glad to receive a rose.
Then she said I’m going to call the manager of the place and it was kind of like the head administrator and I was nervous because I thought well maybe they’re not going to want us to give out roses. Well, she took me into the office and the woman was so wonderful and delighted, and then she got up and said, “I’m going to walk with you and take you to the MRI department and the oncology department so that you can hand out roses there. So we were escorted by the head of this hospital area, and every one of them was so gracious and lovely. Then, on another floor, I was handing out a rose to a woman who stopped and asked why we were there, and I told her. And she just wanted to talk, and she was so happy and grateful that we were there and we talked for a while about how God loves Israel and how we were there to support them.
Also, there was a couple that was in one of the waiting rooms in the hospital area and I gave them a rose and they took it and they asked where I was from and I told them from California and then they said they had kids living in the States. And so I said, “Well, we’re just here to support you and to love you and to let you know that God loves you.” And the woman said to me, “I don’t believe in God.” And she was just sweet and I said to her, “Well, God believes in you.” So we kind of hugged, “I asked if I could pray for her.” And I just prayed a blessing of over her. And then we left.
KHALIDA:
We went out today to give roses. We were at this huge mall where there’s lots and lots of people. I approached this lady to give her a rose and she was so excited when I gave it to her and then she started crying and telling me can I show you? Can I show you on my phone and I said yes and she showed me her two young daughters she has not seen for so long because they are with their daddy. And she was so excited to see them and she asked me if she could have two more roses to give to her daughters and then I read the card with her and she was so happy to read the card and she said thank you thank you thank you for giving me two more roses for my daughters.
She said when they come to see me I will give it to them. So it was really a blessing. We hugged each other, we kissed and I walked away and it was just so beautiful to see how happy she was about giving her daughters the roses and about getting the love of God through the roses.
DAVE:
Today we went to the Grand Canyon Mall, way up in the hills. We were able to go through the mall and give out roses and bless people. So, I had this opportunity to go into a lady’s clothing boutique.
I walked in and said “gift” in Hebrew, and the ladies got excited. Each lady I gave a rose to I said, “God loves you, we love you. We’re praying for peace and shalom.” And each lady was very excited to receive one.
One lady in particular asked if she could record me on her phone, giving it to her and telling her what I told the other ladies. So, I had the opportunity to tell her that God loves her, we love her, we’re praying for peace, we’re praying for Israel, we love Israel, and she cried. And then another lady just came running up and threw her arms around me and gave me a.
Big hug and cried. And it was a really great time.
Later in the day, we were able to go to a bus depot that was connected to a mall. So we walked through the mall and give different people the roses. There were different kinds of shops there–food shops, boutiques, electronic stores etc…
Ww got to give roses to the people who worked in those stores as well as people walking around shopping. All sorts of people, Arabs , Israelis, Russian Jews, and Ethiopians, I believe., And soldiers especially. That was a really amazing time. I got to talk to this one soldier and told him we love him., God loves him, we’re praying for his protection and he was just really, really grateful and he said thank you so much.
He said we love you and I said we love you and it was a really good time and they knew we were Christians. Oftentimes we think that we’re going to give someone a rose and we’re going to lead them to Christ immediately but sometimes were just breaking up fallow ground.
We’re breaking up ground in peoples’ heart so that others may be able to plant seeds. There’s a ministry here that is doing that. They’re putting out the gospel message more specifically to Israelis. That ministry talks to and preaches to Israelis, but also to Arabs and everyone else who’s here. Multiple languages. They put out videos, go and talk to people, and their ministry is thriving. So that kind of encourages us to go out with more boldness and love on people.
ERIC:
I want to talk about this morning. When I woke up, I didn’t feel good still and it was a little bit dizzy on top of having sinus and throat issues. I was aching. And I had a lot of things going on. So when we were discussing after devotions we said it was prayer time and Annie spoke up and said that I needed prayer. I agreed to receive prayer and Sally came up and then she said that she wanted everyone on a team to lay hands on me. So 11 people were laying hands on me and praying,
We went on to have a different time of prayer, and so many things were said. But we made sure that we repelled anything that the devil would throw at me, illness-wise, and in any other way, Then Sally had a prophetic word that she felt healing would come when I stepped out when I would step forward into health and so that’s exactly what happened over the next half hour after the prayer was finished. I went out and I got dressed and it for for A Tour Of Roses.
.We went to the car and my dizziness had gone away and slowly but surely the sinuses took care of themselves. . And the soreness in my muscles was gone and my leg that was sore and hurting had dissipated All the things that were going against me just disappeared. So I went on and had a normal morning and we drove to the mall and had a good time giving away roses.
Later today we went to the Grand Canyon Mall, and when we were there, we handed out roses on three different floors of the building. Ingaborg, Annie and me were a team, and we went to the food court When we got there It was hard to even hand out the roses. But as we handed them out more people came up to us. They were very polite and they waited their turn to grab a rose. Many, many, were so happy, so thankful that we were giving out roses, and they all wanted to know why. I said that we from the United States were bringing the love of God in the form of a rose to them because we love Israel, and that touched their hearts so much.
There was one man who tried so hard to buy me a cup of coffee because he’s so appreciative of the rose. He must have asked me four times can I can I please buy you a cup of coffee? and I said I can’t accept it and he said well, let me buy you a cup of coffee. Each time I had to tell him to thank you very much but no thank you and finally he seemed to understand. He spoke English pretty well, so that helped.
We also found that there were men and women who spoke English, When we were handed out the roses, when other people who didn’t speak English would ask questions, these people would answer for us, and they explained what was going on–it was a gift from us from the United States, and that we wanted to show the love of God to them, It was just so sweet to see them just kind of jump into action and explain to other people what was being done.
And then we found, before we left, one woman, Monique, with her husband and their granddaughter. But they were sitting eating and we had given them a rose. Monique started talking to us and said how difficult it is. The man had served in the 1967 War years ago and that he fought in Syria and so anyhow when he kept saying that there was such a hard time for people to understand that Israelis and Arabs are friends.

Every morning I start my day, reading these musings and enjoying being on the tour with you. Praying over each of these names in these situations that you bring forward with the testimonies of the roses has been so delightful to me. It is a great idea to do it this way and to draw anyone who’s interested into a deeper support of what you’re doing. Praying for your safety and praying that Saturday the flights are running and will be perfect. Thank you for sharing the intimate details the way you have chosen to do. I miss you dearly Sally and now I’m going to miss all your friends. With love, Karen Matocha
