Sally: So, quite truthfully, I didn’t have a lot of time to prepare for my sections of speaking and worship for the Something Beautiful conference. And almost no time for the Sunday morning service. I was somewhere between hoping and trusting God would give me everything I needed in the moment, and He did!

The 2020 Paradise ATOR Team

The bad news: Sorry to say there are no individual reports to share in this update. The team was up at 5AM Saturday morning and out the door at 6AM. They got to the church and began cooking, slicing, dicing, setting up tables, preparing danish and coffee, setting up sound equipment and generally preparing for an all day women’s conference. After the conference a quick dinner and then a long team debriefing session with each member sharing experiences from this trip and what it has meant to them. To bed for short rest and back to the First Baptist Church in the morning where they will share music and testimonies with Sam Walker’s congregation. Then they disburse and hit the road for the long trip home. So who has time to write and send reports to publish in this space?

Prayer & Praise

• We need lots of prayer for set-up for the conference on Saturday. Please do pray for strength and energy and focus for the team as we all work on preparing for the conference.

 Stephanie: Tonight when we outside with the roses at the CMA church (Christian and Missionary Alliance)  a lot of people had already gotten roses so when they came up to me I said, “Have you received a rose yet?” And then if they had I would give them either a word of blessing like “God loves you” or “God bless you.” Some people would say thank for the roses and I would say something like “You’re welcome.” They were all short little moments but part of it all.

But when I went inside and sat at a table and there were 4 roses in the middle of the table. I basically introduced myself and talked with Jolene. She’s a member of the church and so I asked her about her story in regard to the fire. She had lost her home, but her family escaped and they all made it out alive. And now she has a new home and her family is nearby. She was very grateful about that. And I asked her, “Can I pray for you about anything?” And she was having health issues and so I prayed for her about that.

Prayer & Praise

• Gary’s sore throat is gone and sinuses are much better. Please pray for continued healing. Tricky financial situation came up. Please pray for fast resolution that could save us thousands.
• Yara needs some better sleep.
• Rau is concerned about financial provision
• Joan needs some good solid sleep and prayer so she will be able to figure out the worship and her speaking role for the Something Beautiful conference
• Rita asks for prayer that everything goes smoothly and well with Paul, the other chef in the kitchen
• Stephanie is thankful to be feeling so much better!

Stephanie: I was in the Hope Center, a woman came in.. Lorry Anne. I noticed that she had a joyful spirit. I gave her a rose and told her about Gods love. Then I asked her if I could pray for her. She told me her story, escaping from the flames but loosing her house. She was greatful that she was alive. She chose to be joyful because  a negative spirit does not get you anywhere. She has income but needs to find home in April. We prayed about that that she will find a home and get settled and that her home be used for God’s glory. We hugged and said good by.

Prayer Requests

• Please pray for Clyda who just accepted the Lord this morning. She lost her house in the fire and she escaped with her 3 dogs and lives in the hotel.
• Pray for Mallory’s knees arthritic pain that kept her from sufficient sleep.
• Dave’s ankle/inner calf area is swollen, please pray. Dave is also having foot pain in the right foot.
• Prayer please for Joan’s headache and  for Saturday and what the Lord wants her to speak on and worship.
• Stephanie’s legs are better, but her left knee is sore and she is having digestive issues.
• Jurgen wants prayer for his in-laws. They need new caregiver. Please pray for God to provide the right caregiver by Friday.
• Joan asks prayer for her friend’s child, Easton, who is having side effects from seizure meds and doctors say he will die in the next 24 hours. He is under a year old.

Raul: On our way to give roses to a dental office we encountered a bank teller and he wanted a rose. So he walked us into Wells Fargo and we ended up giving roses to the entire bank.

Earlier today, at the food pantry, I was speaking the love of Christ to one man and this other man, who seemed very broken and hurting, was looking at my cross necklace. He was saying he did a lot of bad things. And I said, “There’s forgiveness as you confess your sins.”

And he started saying, “I have done a lot of bad. I just need my soul expunged.”

Hello everyone! Thanks for finding us over here on the Improbable People Ministries blog, From Here to Eternity. Speaking of which it seems like an eternity since we had a functional email system through which to alert each of you to a new ATOR Prayer Update. With email server issues hopefully resolved we can move on to the important stuff.

My name is Michael O’Connor . Many of you know me as Mr. Sally Klein O’Connor. It might have been the other way around at one time, but God gave Sally a better singing voice and a better press agent. 

I will be your tour guide and purveyor of the latest available information regarding the team that is currently in Paradise with The Lord. But not in the way that sounds. Everyone knows by now of the devastating blaze known as The Camp Fire that destroyed very close to the entire town of Paradise, CA in the Northern part of the state near Chico.
